As part of Elevate, we are excited to have a large, light and airy room we call THE SPACE. At Elevate we believe that creativity can have a huge and beneficial impact on our state of wellbeing. For this reason ,The Space is a dedicate Creative Space, where we offer a wide varierty of in person creative workshops, classes & creative cuppies. We are excited to be opening our door to welcome in more creative people & show you The Space & what we do. WORKSHOP: A Decoupage Workshop will be running during the day for just £5, advanced booking online, to give you a taste of creativity. You will have a lovely time using decoupage technique decorating your own flower pot/pot and of course you can it take home to plant something beautiful in. CRAFT DE-STASH Over time we have built quite a collection of creative supplies, tool & projects. These will be available for sale, so come and see what you might like to try next! DEMOS & TUTORS There will be some of our tutors on hand to tell you about the courses they teach here and demo some of their skills. REFRESHMENTS: You are welcome to join us for a hot cup of tea & hand made cakes will be available to buy (gluten free & dairy free options available) MORE: There will be a display of the fantastic items made by our Creative Cuppie Group, a chance to talk to our members & if you like discuss joining. WORKSHOP INFO: £25 (2hrs) Everything Included & Refreshments Get creative and make your very own artistic wire flowers, hearts, stars and more, with our creative tutor Sarah . Sarah will teach you to sculpt the wire to create a range of beautifully stylish wire sculptures. She will be on hand to help, guide & inspire you make your own wire arrangements. You can take home your creations on the day. Your finished pieces can be put in your own narrow topped vase/bottle at home, or during the workshop Sarah will help you set your pieces into driftwood. The driftwood has been hand collected from Stonehaven beach (you can bring your own piece of driftwood if you like). MATERIALS & EXPERIENCE: All materials and equipment are provided for use during the workshop. Refreshments will also be provided. The workshop and skill level is for complete beginners & no experience is necessary. A level of dexterity is required to use the tools and manipulate the wire, so please keep this in mind when considering booking. Glasses (prescription or safety) should be worn, please bring your own if you have them. ABOUT SARAH: Sarah has always loved making and crafting. Her current focus is on coastal crafts, mainly using seaglass, driftwood and pebbles from Stonehaven beach in her work. Sarah makes driftwood, seaglass and pebble designs, and seaglass jewellery. Through her small local business, Little Blue Fish, you can find her designs at local shops, & online. *** Please Note *** We require a minimum of 5 to run this workshop. No refunds available.

WORKSHOP INFO: £35 for the 2hr workshop Everything Inc: materials & tools for use on the day as well as refreshments, firing & glazing. This workshop is perfect for beginners and those wishing to gain more experience with hand building techniques. You will learn to make a handbuilt bowl using the mindful, ancient technique of Puki and hammer stone. Starting with a pinch pot then refining and enlarging it using a hammer stone and a curved base known as a Puki. Once made, you stamp your bowl on the inside with a decorative design of your choice. You will get to test these techniques on a smaller test bowl too. Nicola will then take your bowl to her studio, and glaze and fire it. At the end of the course, your work, a maximum of 2 pieces, each will be fired, glazed and ready for collection within approx. 4-5 weeks. You will be advised when your work is ready and collection will need to be organised from The Space, or for a small additional charge it can be posted out to you. All Material & Equipment supplied for your use on the day. Although you may wish to bring your own apron or an old shirt. ABOUT NICOLA: Is a self taught potter, living and working in Aberdeenshire. Nicola has always had a love of the outdoors. Nicola trained as an entomologist/ecologist. Moving to Scotland she became a freshwater ecologist, spending her days looking down a microscope. A change of career was needed to accommodate the demands of small children and two chronic illnesses. She had long done pottery as a hobby, so decided to turn professional and has never looked back. Now she creates handbuilt pottery from her home studio. Working without the use of a pottery wheel, her pieces reflect the imperfections and asymmetry of nature. No two pieces are alike. The microscopic details of diatoms, algae, and insects are reflected in her work via hand carved textures in the surface. ** Please Note ** We need a minimum of 6 to run the workshop. The workshops are run wth a relaxed atmosphere and are a lovely way to connect with other creatives and learn some new skills. You will be guided step by step, from how to use the tools and the findings needed to make jewellery - in the class & also use skills at home. You will be provided with everything you need including refreshments. You will be able to take some of your makes home with you. ABOUT KATE: Kate has been teaching for over 16years & still loves it. Kate is happy to impart her years of knowledge & experince to her pupils. *** Please Note *** We require a minimum of 4 to run this workshop. No refunds available.
